What is a destination anchor? What are the benefits of them?

Provide an example of destination anchor used on another web site.

  1. A destination anchor is a link that takes the user to a different place on the webpage. If you have a huge webpage with a ton of info, these are helpful.

    ex: Wikipedia.

  2. A destination anchor takes a person to a different place on the same web page so you don't have to scroll down a half a mile to get to what you want.

  6. Links to a specific place within a web page. On a lot of health site there are destination anchors to take you to different parts of a health problem ie. symptoms, treatment, ect.

  7. it's a link to a spot on the same page, The index on pretty much every Wikipedia page if loaded with them for instance... basically it's like having a bookmark on a certain spot or a really long book. only on a webpage..
