Compare and contrast Serif and Sans Serif fonts

  2. First of all, serifs are the little "tails" on letters.
    So, sans-serif means that there are no tails, like this font.
    the Serif font means there are serifs, like the font used in the commenting box.

    Serif fonts have serifs.
    Sans-serif fonts do not have serifs.

  5. Serifs are the 'tails' on the letters that are seen in some fonts. The word 'sans' means without. So san-serif fonts are fonts, without tails.

  6. The "tails" that you see on some fonts are called serifs... sometimes you will see a "sans" in front of the "serifs" which means "without" thus they are without "tails"
